Gender in Media

These two trees show six big newspapers from the same day. The green one shows how many of the articles were written by men and how many by women, and the orange tree shows the amount of images portrait of each sex. The darker colours are representing women and the lighter colours men. This was a university project where we had to create information graphics. I chose to make a newspaper fold that will give us an idea about who writes our papers and how the different genders are portrayed. These trees are meant to make the reader think for themselves, and perhaps get a better understanding of the newspapers they read. Some of the numbers are surprising, and some are not.
